Made of durable 1 sided .045" thick textured white coated outdoor aluminum that is UV resistant. These extrerior grade aluminum stakes are UV-resistant, easy to clean and have a consistent, high-gloss finish. Mfg expected life is up to 5 years. But from our own personal use and testing we can tell it will probably be longer depending upon the amount of UV rays that hit it and your geographical area. These are a beautiful way to display for garden plant markers, and small memorial signs for in gardens, yards or at a cemetary.

We can use tiles as well as that is what the frame is made for, but life expectancy of tiles is maybe 1 year (if not shorter). That is why we prefer to use outdoor aluminum in it's place as it is that much more durable and designed for the outdoor elements.
In the end a simple upgrade on our end makes it last at least 5x the life expectancy of others on the market using just a ceramic tile.
