Benton Trophy
Online - The Sublimation Apparel Difference |
| |
|
What makes sublimation apparel so
special? What is the difference.
We offer different
apparel options from aprons to jackets and neck ties to boxer shorts
which are mostly made of 100% polyester or a high count polyester
mixture but the most common are our T-Shirt lines. We offer t-shirts
that are specifically engineered for the sublimation process in
various colors and styles. Below are the specifics of the material and
differences in printing on shirts that are 50/50 or 100% cotton.
Sublimation is a process
that cannot be matched or duplicated by standard t-shirt printing
methods. Our special dye based ink actually becomes part of the
material itself. what sets sublimation apart is the ability to do
small runs of apparel and other products as well as the material
is made with sublimation in mind. Here is the most commonly
asked question regarding our apparel.
Can I
bring in my own shirts for you to print on?
The answer to this question
is yes and no. It can often be done, however we do not suggest it as
most apparel is made of 100% cotton or 50/50 and will not hold the dye
properly. 100% cotton will not hold the dye at all, once it is washed.
The problem with bringing in your own shirts is that we cannot
guarantee how long the print will last or even if it will print
without ruining a perfectly good shirt. The below picture is how the
material can make a huge print difference.
 |
This print was
done for a friend of ours on some of his 50/50 shirts and our
Soft L'ink Shirts. The shirt on the left is our Soft L'ink line
and the image on the left is a 50/50 blend. |
If you
look closely at the colors on the shirt on the left they are clearly
more vibrant and crisp,. Now if you look at the shirt on the right you
will notice that the colors are definitely there however they have a
more washed out and blurry look to them. The reasoning for this is
that our dye need to bond into a man made fiber (polyester form) to
maintain it durability. What the outcome will be is that the
portions of the material that are not polyester will not stretch
properly and you will be able to see where the stretching has
occurred.

Soft L’ink T-Shirt Line by Hanes |
| |
They are made of a
revolutionary 6 oz. two-sided diamond knit material. The outer shell is made
of 100% micro-polyester while the inner shell is made of 100%
super-soft cotton. Preshrunk to minimize shrinkage.
What sets this apart from various screen printing format shirts, is
that it is made for the sublimation process specifically. The
polyester is perfect for the most vibrant full color print available
and the cotton feels extra soft and great against the skin. Sublimated
shirts leave a permanent vivid image without the normal transfer feel.
This is accomplished using a special digital transfer dye that actually penetrates into
the polyester itself. The only way to ruin the transfer is by causing
permanent damage to the material itself. A sublimation print will not
crack, peel, flake or fade off like a standard transfer or
screen-printed shirt.
While prices are more
expensive than a standard screen-printed shirt, sublimated prints will
hold the color longer and have an outstanding quality diamond knit
construction by none other than Hanes. If you are looking for a true
full color imprinted shirt, you owe it to yourself to check out our
Soft L'ink Line.

nothing you have ever seen before ! ! ! |
